Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act (CPSIA) is the most stringent Consumer Protection Act since the establishment of US Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC). The content of CPSIA can be divided into two parts: the first part is the regulations on the safety of consumer goods, and the second part is the legal provisions on the reform and strengthening of CPSC in the United States.

The first part is about the safety regulations of children's products and consumer goods

If you are a manufacturer of textiles and shoes, you need to pay attention to the following CPSIA requirements:

-The lead content of accessible materials (except exempted products and materials) in children's products must be less than 100mg / kg

-BBP, DBP and DEHP of all children's toys and care products must be less than 0.1% in the accessible materials, and DIDP, DINP and DnOP of toys and care products that can be put into the mouth must be less than 0.1%

-Children's toys must comply with ASTM F963

-Children's products and their packaging must be labeled with traceability labels - products must comply with relevant U.S. regulations and provide compliance certificates based on reasonable tests;

If it is a children's product, the test must be conducted in a third party laboratory approved by CPSC.
